Sit Back and Think

I am not writing this blog to offend anyone or bash an individual's belief. I just want to give you my perspective on religion and how I think some my benefit from a different way of thinking.
I am not by any means an expert in religion. I have researched most and came to some conclusions. But these are just my opinions.

Religion, I feel, was created to explain what the human race was and where it came from. It was to give you a sense of comfort in a crazy world. There have been many religions before Christianity. I say this because man has constantly tried to decipher the secrets of our existence. We want to know the answers to our destiny.

There are so many religions with different explanations and numerous amounts of gods that along with them. I feel every religion is man made and the word of god is actually the word of man. We have created rules and regulations and then added in that god created them.

Christianity, as we know it today, is only a few thousand years old. It was created before our advancements in science and knowledge of our environments. Floods and earthquakes scared the people of the time. They felt god may be punishing them for what they have done. Today we know this is part of our weather system and planet.

God is not here to punish us for any kind of sin. Hell and the devil do not exist. As children we are told to not sin because if we did, then we were going to burn in hell and not enter heaven. I don't feel that our existence will end in some big court room. Fear is the biggest motivator and it is used to manipulate each and everyone of us. Finish this sentence - "I don't sin because ....." You may be afraid that you won't enter heaven. And as soon as you are afraid, then you can be manipulated. I see a lot of value in religion. I know it has helped the world. Without it we may all be dead.

What I am saying is, think for yourself and just exist. You don't have to make good with any kind of god. You are here and that was the entire plan. You are supposed to be alive and experience this majestic earth we inhabit. Don't be afraid and it will open so many more possibilities and enjoyments. I do believe in some kind of higher power. Something did create you, me, and this universe. But it would never condemn us for existing.
